Dendrobium parishii semi-alba
Dendrobium parishii semi-alba
Pendulous Dendrobium species found in Thailand and throughout much of Southeast Asia. Plants are naturally deciduous, losing their leaves in the fall and winter, later blooming from bare canes.
Typically blooms in mid to late spring. Very fragrant.
Plants Available: Growing in net baskets with tree fern fiber. Examples of the size available are pictured.
Orchid Care: Grow in high light—very bright, mostly indirect—with strong air circulation and moderate to high humidity. Water heavily and fertilize generously while plants are in active growth (spring through early fall), but give plants a dry rest during the cooler months. At the nursery, we reduce watering from about Thanksgiving through the beginning of March. Do not fertilize during the dry rest. While your timing may vary, water and fertilization should be gradually increased after buds develop.
