Den. Touch of Gold
Den. Touch of Gold
(Dendrobium gouldii x Dendrobium johannis)
A primary hybrid of Dendrobium species Den. gouldii and Den. johannis, Den. Touch of Gold is a hard cane Dendrobium in section Spatulata (the antelope-type Dens).
Blooms in sprays of small golden brown and yellow flowers with corkscrew petals. Typically blooms in the summer, with flowers lasting several weeks.
Grown from seed.
Plants Available: Growing in 4” and 6” pots. See Plant Selection dropdown menu for availability. Plants in all sizes are mature—in spike/bud/bloom as available; otherwise, plants that have bloomed previously.
Orders will be filled with plants in spike/bud/flower as blooming season and stock permit; otherwise, mature plants that have bloomed previously.
Orchid Care: This Dendrobium variety is hard-caned and evergreen—it does not require a rest period. Grow in medium to high light and moderate humidity. Roots and mix should be allowed to dry out between watering. While a dry rest is not needed, plants can be kept on the dry side during the cooler months.
Plants may be grown potted or mounted. We recommend potting to better accommodate the stature of the plant. Use a medium aggregate bark mix and choose a pot that will keep the plant snug. Repot only during spring and summer when plants are actively growing.
