Prosthechea cochleata
Commonly known as “the Florida clamshell orchid” or “the cockleshell orchid” owing to the appearance of the lip. Psh. cochleata is among the native Florida orchids, but is also found in Southern Mexico, Central America, and throughout the Caribbean.
Flowers are very mildly fragrant, with a spicy scent. Blooms sequentially.
Grown from seed.

Orchid Care: Grow in bright, indirect light with strong air circulation and moderate to high humidity. Tree fern fiber makes for an excellent potting medium for this species. Water generously when dry; allow roots to dry between waterings.
