Aerangis curnowiana
“A lovely plant…not a grand thing, but a lovely, neat one.”
- H.G. Reichenbach, Gardener’s Chronicle, 1883
Miniature Aerangis species found in Madagascar. Produces an inflorescence of one or two flowers, each with cream-colored petals and a pointed white lip and long arcing nectary. Roots are distinctively textured, like blunted sand paper.
Blooms late summer/early fall, with flowers lasting up to 3-4 weeks.
Plants Available: The plant pictured is among the plants available and otherwise represents the size of plant you will receive when you order. The plant and bloom shown here are those of a first bloom seedling.
Orchid Care: Shade and moisture. Plants should be grown in deep shade with only slight drying allowed between watering. Provide good air circulation (as from a nearby fan) to prevent conditions about the plant from becoming dank or stagnant. Can be grown mounted on tree fern or cork, or potted using a fine seedling grade bark. Fertilize weekly.
