Bifrenaria aureofulva
Bifrenaria aureofulva
Syn. Stenocoryne aureofulva
Compact-growing Bifrenaria species, whose new growths produce a spray of 6-12 orange blooms. Flowers range from a more yellowy orange to a darker/brighter shade of tangerine (higher light in the growing area can extenuate the color). Flowers typically have red striations on the insides of the petals and/or lip.
Plants form distinctive pseudobulbs—each a kind of small polyhedron with a single leaf emerging from the center.
Grown from seed.
Plants Available: Mature plants growing in 2” pots similar in size to the plant pictured.
Orchid Care: Grow in bright, indirect light and high humidity with strong air circulation. Water generously during active growth, but provide a dry rest after new growths mature and temperatures cool.
