Cattleya intermedia coerulea

Cattleya intermedia coerulea

from $65.00

(‘Gran Blue’ x self)

Adaptable and generally easy to cultivate, Cattleya intermedia will remain relatively compact as it grows. Typically flowers in late spring/early summer.

These plants are grown from seed, so characteristics vary from plant to plant. All plants currently available are from the same selfing of ‘Gran Blue,’ from which only about 25% of plants come coerulea when they bloom.

Plants Available: The plant pictured in the first four images is the plant currently available—white flower, large, overgrown plant in a 4” pot.

Orchid Care: Grow in bright indirect light and moderate to high humidity. C. intermedia may benefit from more frequent watering than many Catts—the potting media should not dry completely for long period, particularly while plants are actively growing. At the same time, the medium should never be stale or soggy, and sphagnum moss is not recommended. Try potting in a coarse well-draining media (e.g. a chunky bark mix), which may be watered daily in the summer without staying overly wet and still allowing air to the roots.
