Cattleya Orpetti-luteola
Cattleya Orpetti-luteola
(Cattleya Orpetti × Cattleya luteola) *This hybrid does not currently have a registered name.
This miniature Cattleya hybrid is one half Cattleya luteola—a compact, yellow-flowered Cattleya species. The other half of the parentage is Cattleya Orpetti, a primary hybrid of two red flowered species that produce round blooms of 1.5-3”.
Flowers from this grex have so far produced blooms with yellow petals and a red lip, though some variation in shades is possible as plants are seed-grown. See the blooms pictured for examples of flower variation from two plants from this crop.
Plants Available: Growing in 2” net pots. Plants are blooming-size. Examples of the two sizes available are pictured.
Orchid Care: Grow in bright indirect light with moderate humidity and strong air circulation. Water generously during active growth but ensure roots dry between waterings. Plants may be potted or mounted. For potted plants, seedling bark, sphagnum, or tree fern fiber may be appropriate depending on the growing environment.
