Paph. Shirley Amundson
Paph. Shirley Amundson
(Paphiopedilum acmodontum × Paphiopedilum hookerae)
Primary hybrid of Paph. acmodontum and Paph. hookerae—and a lovely combination of the two species! Blooms are shades of pink, green, and brown, typically with red spotting on the lateral petals and thin vertical stripes on the dorsal sepal. Foliage is attractively tessellated, light green leaves overlaid with a darker green mosaic.
Grown from seed, so flower characteristics vary somewhat from plant to plant. Compare the two blooms pictured for an example of these variations in two different plants.
Plants Available: Growing in 2” and 4” pots. An example of the 2” Pot option is pictured. Orders will be filled with plants in bud/bloom as blooming season and blooming stock permit; otherwise, plants that have bloomed previously.
Orchid Care: Grow in dappled light, with good air circulation and high humidity. Plants should be kept moist, but not soggy. Keep temperatures above 60F in the growing environment—the species that comprise this hybrid are accustomed to warm to hot conditions year round.
