Den. Fairy Moon 'Sweetie'
Den. Fairy Moon 'Sweetie'
(Den. Cygnus × Den. Fancy Girl)
'‘Sweetie’ mericlone.
The flowers of this variety are yellow with a pink picotee and deep yellow throat. Buds form at the joints of the canes in clusters that produce sweetly fragrant flowers.
Easy to grow, great for mounting and landscaping in temperate to subtropical climes.
Plants typically bud/bloom in February, March.
Plants Available: Growing in 2" and 4” pots. Plants in 2" pots are approximately 2 years from first bloom. Plants in 4" pots are expected to reach blooming size by spring.
Orchid Care: Grow in high light. Plants can be acclimated to direct sun, but will thank you if you give them shade during the hottest hours of the day (typically 11-3). Great for mounting on most palms. Water and fertilize regularly during active growth, but give plants a dry rest in the cooler months. At our nursery, this is typically from Thanksgiving through early February.
Note: Nobile-type Dendrobiums are deciduous—you can expect them to drop leaves during their rest period. Plants require a cool, dry rest in fall/winter to initiate flowering.
