Den. Medalist

Den. Medalist
(Den. Century Hope × Den. Sweet Pinky)
Spring-blooming nobile-type Dendrobium. Easy to grow, great for mounting, and fragrant. Deciduous and pendulous, they require a dry rest in fall/winter until they produce buds late winter/early spring.
‘#2’ mericlone.
Plants Available: Growing in 4” Pots. Plants are at peak bloom in spring—roughly mid-March in our greenhouses.
Orchid Care: Grow in bright indirect light. Plants can be acclimated to direct sun, but will thank you if you give them shade during the hottest hours of the day (typically 11-3). Great for mounting on most palms. Water and fertilize regularly during active growth, but give plants a dry rest in the cooler months. At our nursery, this is typically from Thanksgiving through early March.
Note: Nobile-type Dendrobiums are deciduous—you can expect them to drop leaves during their rest period.
