Paphiopedilum haynaldianum
Paphiopedilum haynaldianum
A strap-leaf lady slipper species native to the Philippines.
Grown from seed, so flower characteristics vary somewhat from plant to plant. Compare the two blooms pictured for an example of this variation in two plants.
Plants Available: Growing in 4” and 6” pots. The plant pictured in full is an example of the 4” Pot - Lg option. Orders will be filled with plants in bud or bloom as blooming season and blooming stock permit; otherwise, mature plants that have bloomed previously.
Orchid Care: Grow in bright, indirect light with buoyant air movement and keep moist., but never soggy. Plants should be kept potted, grown in substrate such as fine or seedling grade bark mix or tree fern fiber that retains moisture without becoming saturated. Media can be allowed to dry between waterings in the cooler months. Water generously once spikes have initiated and plants are in bloom. Provide a cool period of 6-8 weeks (nighttime temps of 50F-60F) and a calcium supplement annually (e.g. lime at repotting) to encourage reblooming.
