Cattleya violacea alba
Cattleya violacea alba
x sib
Alba form of bifoliate Cattleya violacea.
Plants Available: The plant pictured is the plant currently available.
Orchid Care: Grow bright and warm/hot in high humidity. Plants seem to thrive in the hot and humid FL summer—especially when mounted on tree fern or driftwood. Water heavily when plants are actively growing. Mounted plants may need daily watering in the summer. In cooler months, protect from temperatures below 55F.
Note: As for bifoliate Cattleya species in general, C. violacea should only be repotted or divided during a particular part of its growth cycle. When determining whether to repot or mount, look for new growth and root development. Plants disturbed at the wrong time—i.e. after the new growth has established and/or roots are not in active growth—may decline.
